Do-Not-Contact Policy
How a number or email gets onto the suppression list, which channels it stops, how long it is kept, and who may remove one.
Five ways onto the list
Replying STOP (or anything that plainly asks us to stop, in English or Spanish) to a text; the unsubscribe link in an email; pressing 8 on any automated call; pressing 7 to report a wrong number; or asking the school office, which records it within one business day. All five are permanent and all-channel — none is narrower because of the channel it arrived on.
A suppression covers every channel
A STOP sent in reply to an attendance text also ends enrollment calls, texts, and emails. Matching is on the last ten digits of the number and on the email address, and every outbound message is checked against the list before it sends. We adopted cross-content suppression rather than relying on the FCC waiver of that part of 47 CFR §64.1200(a)(10) (DA 26-12).
One reversible preference, and it is not a suppression
Pressing 6 on an attendance call stops attendance phone calls only — texts and emails continue — and texting CALLS turns them back on. It is held separately from the suppression list and offered only on attendance calls.
Kept four years, and it survives a deletion request
Retained for the engagement plus four years — four rather than three so the record outlasts the federal catch-all limitations period applied to TCPA claims (28 U.S.C. §1658), which sets the window for bringing a claim rather than requiring any retention. Exempt from the 90-day inactivity purge. A deletion request reduces it to the number, email, status and date rather than erasing it — deleting it outright would put that number back in contactable status, the opposite of what was asked.
Almost nobody can remove one
The attendance-call preference: the guardian, by texting CALLS. An all-channel suppression: nothing in the platform removes it — no dashboard control, no keyword, no automated path, and school staff cannot do it. Removal requires a logged, deliberate database operation on a documented guardian request.
Never confirmed unless it was written
No confirmation is spoken or sent unless the suppression record actually landed. Where the request arrives by text, one confirmation goes out within five minutes, with no marketing content, and nothing further is sent to that number.
