Insurance & Liability Coverage
AskElira’s insurance in force — General Liability, Professional Liability (Technology E&O), and Cyber Liability — so your procurement, legal, and data-privacy staff can confirm coverage before signing.
Three policies in force
AskElira — the platform operated by stoplosses.ai LLC, the entity that signs your agreements — carries General Liability, Professional Liability (Technology Errors & Omissions), and Cyber Liability insurance, each at a $1,000,000 limit. General and Professional Liability are underwritten by Hiscox; Cyber by United Specialty Insurance Company. Coverage runs July 2026–July 2027 and is renewed annually.
Cyber coverage backs your student-data risk
The Cyber policy is the coverage most relevant to FERPA and NY Education Law §2-d. Within its $1M aggregate it includes $1,000,000 each for Privacy Liability, Privacy Regulatory Liability, Network Security Liability, Breach Response Costs, and Data Restoration — the exact exposures a student-data incident creates.
A-rated cyber carrier
Cyber is written by United Specialty Insurance Company, rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best — a financially sound carrier standing behind the policy, placed through Vouch, the tech-focused insurance program.
Download the Certificate of Insurance
The current Certificate of Insurance (ACORD 25) for all three policies is available to download right on this page. Where your procurement requires it, we can also request additional-insured and waiver-of-subrogation endorsements from the carrier naming your school — email alvin@askelira.com.
Why it matters
Insurance turns our written security and privacy commitments into a real financial backstop. If something goes wrong, breach-response, regulatory-defense, and liability costs are covered by the policies above rather than resting on a small vendor’s balance sheet — a standard your board and authorizer will expect a data-handling vendor to meet.
