Family outreach & consent

Accept or decline by text in the new enrollment engine

Two steps record a family’s seat decision in the new enrollment engine.

These rules apply only to schools using the new enrollment engine in the Enrollment workspace. Schools still on the legacy SchoolMint follow-up ladder use the legacy reply rules.

Choose, then confirm

For an offered seat, first reply 1, yes, or accept to accept; or 2, no, or decline to decline. Elira asks once to confirm. Only confirmation words confirm a waiting choice: a second reply of YES or confirm, or legacy CONFIRM ACCEPT / CONFIRM DECLINE matching that choice. Capitalization does not matter. A new choice replaces the waiting one. The waiting choice expires after 24 hours. A first “yes” starts an acceptance choice; it does not confirm itself. After expiry, “confirm” cannot record the old choice; a new choice needs its own confirmation.

Stopping contact is separate

STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, and BAJA stop texts, calls and emails. STOP TEXTS stops only texts; separately authorized calls and emails remain subject to their own rules. Neither request accepts or declines a seat. Replying YES cannot restart texts.

Check the family’s recorded decision in the student’s Activity.
