Calls from your number, emails from your domain
Two one-time setups so families see YOUR school calling and emailing — not a platform number or address.
Families answer their school. Two optional, one-time setups make every Elira call and email carry your school's own identity.
Sync your phone number (calls show your office number)
- In your dashboard, make sure Main Office Phone is saved in School config.
- Click Sync phone number right below it — your office phone rings within seconds.
- Whoever answers types the short code shown on your screen into the keypad. Done.
From then on, enrollment and attendance calls display your main office number as the caller ID, and a family who calls back reaches your actual front desk. If you ever change the office number, just sync again.
Send email from your school's domain
- In Connections → School Email Domain, enter a dedicated subdomain of your school domain — for example
enroll.yourschool.org. (A subdomain keeps your regular school email completely untouched; the bare domain is not accepted for exactly that reason.) - Send the DNS records shown to whoever manages your domain (your IT person or web provider) — a few copy-paste entries.
- Click Check status. Verification usually completes within minutes of the records going in.
Once verified, every family email sends from elira@your-subdomain — and replies still flow to Elira, so confirmed accepts/declines keep working exactly as before. Disconnect any time to fall back to the AskElira address.
Neither setup is required — Elira works out of the box. They're worth the ten minutes: families recognize the caller and the sender, so more of them answer.
