Staff messages in a family conversation
Review a selected student’s recorded recipient, school sender and send holds. Real-school staff sends remain held.
Open Families, select a student, then Conversation. Only this selected family drawer has the staff composer. Choose Text or Email and a recorded, verified guardian. The school sender is read-only. Email needs a subject. Review Final message, including required school identification and opt-out wording, before choosing Send text or Send email. Staff wording is sent as written, without automatic translation or a staff signature.
Real-school staff sending is still held. The composer explains that final sending is limited to the approved test-school path. Consent, STOP, contact verification, suppression, school holds and contact hours are checked again at dispatch. A preview never grants permission or schedules a message.
After an accepted test-school staff send, Submitted · delivery not confirmed means the provider accepted the message. It does not mean the family received it. Email does not claim delivery without evidence. A send never resolves an open item.
An accepted send pauses Elira on that verified student/guardian thread for 24 hours, measured by the server. Text and email share the pause only for the same verified thread. Other guardians and children are independent. Routine family replies go to Needs you; Attendance remains separate. STOP still takes effect and urgent messages still enter the urgent alert path. Let Elira answer again ends the thread pause early without sending or replaying old replies. Other contact holds stay in place.
Drafts stay in memory while the drawer is open. Changing channels keeps each channel’s draft. Closing or changing students asks Discard this draft?. Keep writing retains it. Discard draft removes it. Drafts are not stored in browser storage.
If the outcome is unknown, use Check send. It recovers the same reviewed command; do not start a second send. The submitted message, channel and recipient remain frozen, and Elira waits pending reconciliation. A definite failure keeps your draft.
