Closing your admissions season (and reopening it)
When your season is over, close it — Elira stops chasing families about admissions, keeps answering the ones who write in, and sends you a summary.
Elira spends the whole season chasing: a family who hasn't answered gets another text, a seat that isn't claimed gets offered on, a document that hasn't arrived gets asked for again. That's right until the day it isn't.
We ask, you decide
When every family on your roster has settled — registered, declined or withdrawn — and SchoolMint has nothing left in the statuses Elira follows, you'll see a question on your Enrollment page and at the top of your daily digest:
Is your 2026–27 admissions season finished?
It comes with the numbers behind it: how many families registered, how many declined, how many withdrew, how long it's been since anyone needed anything. Elira never closes a season on her own — an empty roster looks the same whether your season ended or something changed in SchoolMint, and only you know which.
Until you answer, outreach stays on hold and nothing goes out. No family is lost; every conversation stays exactly where it stopped.
What closing does
Stops: enrollment sequences, waitlist advancement, and document reminders. Nothing new goes out to a family about admissions.
Keeps running: attendance sequences, the family question-and-answer assistant, and every reply. A guardian who texts, emails or calls in August still gets an answer — they're replying to you, and a reply is never outreach.
You'll get a season summary by email: where every family ended up, including the ones who said no, and what happens next.
If you still have a waitlist
Closing stops Elira there too, and those families won't hear anything further from us about that year. The count is shown before you click, not after.
Reopening takes one click
If SchoolMint gets new applicants for a season you've closed, Elira notices — she keeps reading your roster even when she's stopped contacting anyone — and tells you in the digest. Reopen from Enrollment and outreach resumes on the next read, exactly where it left off.
Closing one year never closes the next one. When your next cycle opens, it starts open.
You don't have to wait to be asked
If you've decided a season is over — a board decision, a cycle you're stopping early — close it whenever you like from the same card. Elira won't argue.
