Getting started

Setup walkthrough: Google Calendar

Share your school calendar with our service account so tours and meetings booked in the chat land on it — with live availability.

When a family books a tour or meeting in the chat, Elira checks your real availability and puts the appointment straight on your school's Google Calendar. One share makes that work.

Step 1 — Pick (or create) the calendar

Decide which Google Calendar should hold Elira's bookings — most schools use the main office calendar, or create a dedicated "Tours & Family Meetings" calendar in the same Google account.

Step 2 — Open sharing settings

  1. In Google Calendar, find the calendar in the left sidebar under My calendars.
  2. Hover it → click the three dots → Settings and sharing.

Step 3 — Share with the service account

  1. Scroll to Share with specific people or groups+ Add people and groups.
  2. Paste the service-account email shown next to the Google Calendar step on your dashboard checklist (it ends in .iam.gserviceaccount.com).
  3. Set permission to Make changes to events — Elira needs to add bookings, not just read.
  4. Click Send.

Step 4 — Confirm on the checklist

Back on your dashboard, click Mark shared next to the Google Calendar step. We double-check the connection together during your go-live review.

Sharing with a gserviceaccount.com address is Google's built-in way to let software manage one specific calendar — it has no access to email, files, or anything else in your Google account.
