What each dashboard card does — follow-up flags, the applicants roster, school config, events, and the SchoolMint connection.

Follow-up flags
Three cards at the top of the dashboard flag families who need a human, not just Elira: IEP — needs follow-up, Non-responsive (Day 5+), and Seats at risk (24h). Each family shows the day count since that step started, so the longest waits are obvious at a glance. A card shows its first 3 families; +N more opens the rest in a scrollable list. Dashboard times, including these day counts, are shown in New York school time regardless of where you're logged in from.
A fourth card, New applicants (24h), sits alongside them: everyone who landed in your roster in the last day. It isn't a to-do like the other three — it's the morning's reading — so it's deliberately not on the red-through-amber colour ramp. A brand-new family has no waiting time worth showing, so those rows show where the family stands in SchoolMint instead of a day count.
Click a family's name in any of these cards to jump straight to their row in Applicants below: the roster opens wide enough to show them, their row expands, and the page scrolls to it. The next question after seeing a name is always what's already been said to that family, and that's the answer.
Applicants
Your roster, one family per row. Phone and email sit on the row itself — the morning job is a call list, and a number that costs a click per family is a number staff go look up in SchoolMint instead. Phone numbers are grouped the way you'd say them out loud; a number we can't read as a standard 10-digit one is left exactly as SchoolMint sent it, and a family with neither number nor address reads no contact on file. The number and the address are both clickable: the number opens your computer's dialer, the address opens your mail program on an empty draft. Nothing is sent from the roster — you write and send it yourself, exactly as you do today after copying the address out. An address that isn't really an address, like a SchoolMint placeholder, stays plain text rather than becoming a link to a mailbox that can't exist. The roster opens A–Z by guardian name, so a family is where it was yesterday and can be found by scanning; sort by any column header to change that, and Last contact is the one to click when you want the most recent activity instead. Show 25 / 50 / 100 sets how many families are on a page and Show All drops the pages entirely; above the table you always see which rows you're looking at (Showing 26–50 of 214), and the page arrows sit under it, where you reach for them. Re-sorting takes you back to page 1, because a new order makes page 4 a different set of families. Last contact shows the date and, under it, how long ago that was — today, yesterday, 6 days ago — so the families who have been waiting longest stand out without anyone working the dates out. Ages are counted in New York school time, like every other date on the dashboard. Stage says which step Elira is on in plain words — Seat offer, Offer call, Offer reminder, Handed to your office, Registration packet, Registration reminder, Seat at risk, Final notice — and hovering one says what that step actually did, because "Seat at risk" earns a call and "Offer reminder" doesn't. Sorting by Stage walks the ladder in the order it runs rather than alphabetically.
A small language badge sits next to the guardian's name — Spanish, Arabic, Haitian Creole — so you know a call needs an interpreter before you dial rather than when the parent answers. It's the home language SchoolMint already holds for that family. Rows where the family's language is English, or where SchoolMint has nothing on file, show no badge at all, so the badge always means something. If SchoolMint sends a language we don't have a name for, the row shows its code rather than guessing.
Expand a row for the things a row can't hold: Elira read the notes (why she paused or changed course on that family, with the time), the message log of everything sent and on which channel, and the latest response if one came back. Enrollment tab
Seat targets (total and per grade), the prime enrollment season, the rolling-season option, per-campus pause/resume, the Widget season control, and all enrollment-season details (deadlines, documents, registration link, notifications, waitlist updates) — see Seats, season & campus controls.
Lottery & offers
Families who were offered a seat and never replied, how far past their deadline each one is, and the one place a seat is released so it can go to the next family. Elira never takes a seat back on her own — see Families who never answered their offer.
Insights
The weekly read, deliberately kept off this screen: whether you can actually reach your families, which single document is jamming registration, where consent is short, how families answer, which languages they need, what they keep asking, and where your process is uneven. Nothing on it needs looking at before Monday — see The Insights tab.
Drafts

The registration deadline under your school name
Next to the SchoolMint badge sits Registration deadline <your date> · 12 days left, so the date families are working to is on the screen staff already have open. The date is shown exactly as you typed it in School info — never reformatted — and that is also where you change it. The countdown is added only when what you typed reads unambiguously as a date; a deadline written as free text still shows, just without the days. Inside the last week it turns amber, and it reads closes today on the day and closed after it. Days are counted in New York school time, like every other date on the dashboard.
The SchoolMint badge under your school name
One badge tells you whether the roster behind every figure on the page is still real. Green (SchoolMint · synced 6:12 AM ET) means this morning's read landed. Amber means you're connected but no read has come through yet. Red — SchoolMint disconnected, or last synced 30h ago — means the numbers are frozen and nothing is refreshing them; click the badge to go straight to the connection. Reads run twice a day, so anything past 26 hours is treated as broken rather than quiet.
You'll also see a badge here if your subscription needs attention (payment past due, or inactive). No badge means billing is fine.
School info
Everything Elira answers families from, all year: your school profile, programs, staff directory, contact numbers and your school hours. Arrival, dismissal and any weekly half day are set here — see School hours & early dismissal. Keep it current; a wrong number here becomes a wrong answer to a parent.
Settings
Your account rather than your school. Three things live here:
- Subscription — your plan, invoices, and cancellation. (This moved off the dashboard, which is a daily triage screen.)
- Who can open this dashboard — give colleagues at your school their own sign-in instead of sharing yours; see Sign in with a magic link.
- Connections — the SchoolMint connection (automated sync via a staff account — our team sets it up with you during onboarding), your website widget snippet, and your school email domain. The Sync phone number button makes calls display your own office number — see Calls from your number, emails from your domain.
AI Knowledge
Answers you've taught Elira, notes about what's happening this week, your staff directory, calendars and documents, and event flyers — see Everything Elira knows.
What Elira leads with on your widget — automatic
There's nothing to set. Elira follows the calendar on her own: February–August she leads with applying, tours, deadlines, seat offers and registration; September–January she leads with general school info, events and contacts. Either way she still fully answers any question a family asks in the other direction — the calendar only changes what she brings up *first*. It also sets how in-chat appointments are framed: tours and info sessions for prospective families during the apply window, meetings with staff once school is in session.
Parents never see a switch, and neither do you now — there used to be a season selector on this page and it has been removed, because the only thing it could really do was pin your widget to the wrong half of the year.
Consent
Your live text/call opt-in count, the self-serve opt-in link, and bulk import — see Text, call & email consent.
Attendance alerts
Upload the day's attendance CSV — your full roster if your export can produce one, the absentee list if it cannot — and Elira notifies the guardians of the students marked absent. Late arrivals are a separate switch and are off until you turn them on. The chronic-absence figures on the same page need the full roster to have a denominator at all. School email domain
Under Settings → Connections: send family emails from your own domain (elira@enroll.yourschool.org) — see Calls from your number, emails from your domain.
